4 Healthy Freezer Pack Recipes for Juice Smoothies

Let's admit it: on those mornings you feel rushed or chaotic, healthy breakfasts don't always happen. Preparing breakfasts the night before can help you create — ahem — smooth and cool mornings.

How? Well, with the time it takes you to wash and chop delicious, vitamin packed fresh fruits and veggies, you can get an entire week’s worth of easy, grab and go breakfast smoothies.

A few of our favorite recipes (which are listed below) are packed with several servings of essential vitamins and nutrients to kick start your day. Happy blending!

Healthy Smoothie Prep 4 Ways

Tangy Green Smoothie

  • ½ of a ripe mango, peeled and seed removed
  • 1 large banana
  • 1 cup greens (baby bok choi or spinach are our favorites!)
  • ½ cup coconut milk

Wash and chop all solid ingredients, then place in a sandwich sized Stasher bag. Press out excess air, and lay flat in the freezer to solidify. When you’re ready to enjoy your smoothie, grab a bag out of the freezer, add liquid, and blend! This sweet and tangy smoothie cleverly disguises the taste of the greens it calls for. While any greens can be used, we find that baby bok choi and spinach blend up nicely and have a milder flavor that is more easily overpowered by the mango, banana and coconut.

Berry Beet Smoothie

  • 1 whole apple, peeled
  • ¼ medium sugar beet, roasted or steamed
  • 2/3 cup strawberries
  • ½ cup vanilla rice or almond milk
  • honey to taste (optional)

Wash and chop all solid ingredients, then place in a raspberry Stasher bag. Press out excess air, and lay flat in the freezer to solidify.  You can opt to include raw beets rather than cooked, just be aware that raw beets have a slightly “earthier” and less sweet flavor. Add honey to taste if you like your smoothies a bit sweeter. To make your smoothie, pour frozen fruits and veggies into your blender with vanilla or almond milk.

Ginger Detox Smoothie

  • 1 ½  cups pineapple
  • 1 large banana
  • ½ - 1 tsp grated ginger
  • ½ cup pineapple juice

Wash and chop all solid ingredients, then place in an aqua Stasher bag. Press out excess air, and lay flat in the freezer to solidify. The amount of ginger is up to you— start with a little taste and work your way up to a larger dose if you like the spicy kick! Add honey if you want to balance some sweetness with the tang of the pineapple. To make your smoothie, blend frozen ingredients with pineapple or orange juice.

Orange Carrot Smoothie

  • 1 medium carrot, steamed
  • 1 whole orange, peeled
  • 1 large banana
  • 1/3 cup yogurt
  • ¼ cup water or orange juice
  • honey to taste (optional)
