September is coming to an end, and if you're still on the Whole30 wagon, we commend you! Easy recipes are truly where it's at. My favorite, and easiest, way to do a Whole30 approved breakfast is to make a simple smoothie. I have a go-to recipe for sure, but it's key to mix things up during the month if you find yourself tiring of routine.
Smoothies are my favorite because you can pack all of your nutrients in an easily digested drink while not sacrificing flavor. You're also getting whole foods without any added sugar. This smoothie is made up of frozen peaches and bananas filled with Vitamin C and potassium. Hemp milk contains tons of protein and essential fatty acids. Tahini also contains healthy fats and minerals. Golden flax acts as a wonderful fiber with a toasted flavor. Collagen peptides add extra protein and provide gut-healing benefits while Ceylon cinnamon may actually help curb sugar cravings.
So what better way to enjoy and save seasonal fruits than to freeze them? This year I'm stocking up on local peaches for smoothies, jams, you name it. I've found the best way to store these in the freezer are by slicing them and popping them in a reusable stasher bag. I use the same exact method for freezing my bananas, just peel dice and store. Super easy, affordable, and waste-free!
