Frequently Asked Questions About Stasher
ORDERS & SHIPPING
What are my shipping options?
For our Squad members in the US, we ship with a few ground couriers — primarily UPS. No worries if your order is headed somewhere only deliverable by USPS; our system will automatically route your shipping with them.
In Canada, we ship via DHL and the final delivery (as in, the one to you) will be made either by Canada Post or a local courier. Sorry Squad, we don’t ship to Québec currently.
How long will it take for my order to arrive?
Standard ground shipping in the US takes between 4–10 days to arrive on average.
Canada orders take about 4–14 days to arrive. Unfortunately, we can’t offer expedited shipping to Canadian addresses.
Keep an eye on your email for shipping confirmations and tracking info from us.
How do I return my order?
Return your reusables?! All kidding aside, just go to our returns portal and we’ll send you a free shipping label for returns within 30 days. During the holiday season (November and December), we offer free returns up to 60 days. Returns will be processed and refunded once received back to our warehouse.
All items eligible for returns unless marked as final sale. Any shipping charges from the original order will not be refunded. Refund is subject to confirmation of returned product received and processed at our warehouse.
No matter what, please let us know your thoughts by reaching out.
I just placed an order. Can I change or cancel it?
Yes! You have 30 minutes to edit or cancel your order after placing. Head to your order confirmation email and follow the links to make any changes. If you miss the 30 minute window, we’re happy to help with the return process or find another solution. Email wave@stasherbag.com if you need help.
Why did my product come without packaging?
Our vision is to create healthy oceans. To that effect, we try to reduce our footprint in lots of ways, including by shipping without extra wrapping and materials. If you need care instructions, here’s a digital version.
All orders are always new and unused.
I’m outside of the United States. How can I order from Stasher®?
Luckily, we’re located in quite a few markets through various retailers around the world. Please look for us online where you are, as we are typically always in local Amazon markets.
So, are there duty fees for Canadians?
Nope! We’re covering those. Any applicable fees or taxes will be applied at checkout, so you’ll have full visibility.
Why don’t you ship to Québec?
We knew this was coming. Unfortunately, Québec law requires us to have French translations on our site and in all accompanying materials to ship there. Hopefully, we can do this one day.
USE & CARE
How do I clean my Stasher bags, bowls, or lids?
Super easy — just stick it in the dishwasher! Or you can wash our reusables by hand with warm, soapy water. Here are some more general cleaning tips!
Wait, can I really put them in the dishwasher?
Yep, really.
Should I turn them inside out to dry?
No, please don’t do this! Turning our bags and bowls inside out can damage the integrity of the seal and lead to tears. Instead, place them upside down with the seal open on a drying rack.
Is it true I can cook with my Stasher bags and bowls?
You bet. All Stasher reusables are safe for cooking up to 425°F (218.33°C) in the oven, microwave, and sous vide. Plus, they’re safe to store in the freezer. Just keep these safety tips in mind:
- Always keep the seal partially open when cooking in the oven or microwave.
- Put your bags and bowls on a baking sheet when cooking in the oven.
- Use tongs or gloves when handling a hot Stasher reusable; even better, cool before handling.
Here are some more general cooking tips!
Where can I find cooking tips and recipes?
We’re glad you asked! Our Stasher Life blog is filled with recipes and cooking hacks for our Stasher bags and bowls. You can also find great tips by following our social pages — Instagram, TikTok, and Pinterest are our personal favorites.
Can I freeze my Stasher reusables?
Yep!
Here are some great smoothie ideas for the freezer!
Is there anything I shouldn’t store in my bags and bowls?
They’re durable, not indestructible. Avoid storing anything sharp like knives or letting puppy teeth get ahold of them.

How do I draw, write, or label my bags and bowls?
Easy! Just use a non-toxic chalk marker (which you can buy online) to write directly on the matte side of your Stasher bag or the seal of your bowl. Wash off with warm water. Here’s our rec for pens to try.

AGH! My Stasher bag has a stain, bad smell, or feels tacky. What now?!
Breathe. It’ll be okay. You can find tips for caring for our bags and bowls on our blog, but here’s a TLDR:
For stains: Set your reusable in sunlight for a few hours to naturally “bleach.”
For smells: Soak in a 50/50 warm water and vinegar bath for several hours or bake your reusables (yes, really) in the oven at 350°F for 8–10 minutes.
For tackiness: Coat in a 6:2 ratio potion of baking soda and water, let sit for an hour, and rinse.
Uh, there’s mold in the corner of my bag. What do I do?
Use a bottle brush to clean out the corners of your reusable — and give it a good scrub! Doing this after every use will prevent mold in the future. Then, sanitize in boiling water or a 50/50 water and vinegar bath.
What are the best tools to use to clean my Stasher reusables?
Like we said above, a bottle brush is *chef’s kiss* for getting gunk out of the corners and seal. (Psst: We have a great one.) Otherwise, a dishwasher or warm, soapy water and a sponge is just fine.
There’s a hole in my bag. Can I repair it?
Whoops. It happens. Please email us at wave@stasherbag.com and we are happy to help. Depending on the size of the hole or tear, you can upcycle your Stasher — we’ve got some ideas in our blog. If it’s too damaged to reuse, please head to our recycling form for a free shipping label from TerraCycle, our recycling partner. We are sorry to say that we can't offer free labels for those being sent from outside the US - we are working on fixing this for the future and we appreciate your understanding!
SUSTAINABILITY
Are Stasher products “clean?”
At Stasher, we define “clean” in a few different ways. From a materials perspective, our products are free of unwanted things like lead, latex, BPA, BPS, or other phthalates. Our products can be safely heated and store everything from baby food to makeup and toiletries, then cleaned for repeated use.
Most recycling facilities don’t accept silicone. Through our partnership with TerraCycle®, your bag can be responsibly recycled and avoid ending up in a landfill.
How do you define sustainability?
For us, being sustainable means making products that help anyone reduce plastic and, most importantly, keep it out of our waterways. With any sustainable swap, buying a better alternative isn’t a one-time fix; it’s the beginning of positive change. No matter what you read, see, or hear, no product is truly sustainable and every product has an impact on the environment. We all need to think longer and harder about the full lifecycle of everything we buy.
Is your packaging sustainable?
Yes! We strive to be as waste-free as possible, so all orders from stasherbag.com arrive without packaging. Plus, our packaging is 70% post-consumer recycled material. You’ll also find our products in retail locations with minimal packaging — it’s designed to be fully recyclable. Need care instructions when gifting? Here’s a digital version you can print.
Any tips to help me be more sustainable?
Definitely. Check out our blog for more ideas on sustainable shopping, zero-waste swaps for common plastic household items, and ways to use your Stasher reusables for so much more than storage.
MATERIALS & SOURCING
Are you going to make more sizes and colors?
We’re always working toward more product innovation. At Stasher, our mission is to create products that inspire everyone to reduce plastic waste — meaning we’re constantly looking for innovation, materials, and alternatives that help us achieve that goal while giving our Squad versatile and simple solutions to their everyday needs.
What exactly is silicone?
Silicone is a synthetic material made from a combination of silica (sand) and oxygen, typically used for houseware, sealants, and medical devices. One of the largest benefits to silicone is that it can safely endure high heat without changing form or releasing harmful chemicals.
Stasher reusables are made with premium food-grade silicone, which is one of the highest quality tiers, and deemed safe for food use by the FDA as well as meeting the EU food safety certification. It’s cured to create a stable, versatile product that you can put in the oven (up to 425°F), freezer, microwave, and dishwasher. All our products are free of lead, latex, BPA, BPS, or other phthalates. You can read more here.
How is silicone different from plastic?
Though general plastic and silicone are both man-made polymers (a molecule made by combining other, smaller molecules), that’s really where the similarities end. Most plastic can’t be heated or repeatedly reused whereas silicone is made with that flexibility in mind — and it won’t degrade.
Because our products can be reused for years to come — and for a variety of purposes — they effectively help reduce the need for single-use plastics. You can read more here.
What dyes or colorants are used in your products?
All colorants and dyes used in our products are food-safe and pass testing requirements set by the FDA, as well as those in Canada, Europe, and other countries.
My Stasher bag or bowl got damaged. Can I recycle it?
Yes! We want to ensure no Stasher product ends up in a landfill . . . or even worse (gulp), the ocean. First, try seeing if you can repurpose your bag.
If it’s too damaged to reuse, please head to our recycling form for a free shipping label from TerraCycle, our recycling partner. We are sorry to say that we can't offer free labels for those being sent from outside the US - we are working on fixing this for the future and we appreciate your understanding!
Where are Stasher products made? Why?
Stasher products are designed in Emeryville, California and manufactured responsibly in China. We have a longstanding relationship with our factory team, who prioritize responsible production and worker safety.
The manufacturing team is committed to making safe, high-quality products and works with many reputable brands, particularly in the creation of silicone products for infants.
Do you audit your manufacturing facility?
Our manufacturing facility has received the SA8000 standard certification, the world’s leading social certification program. It provides a holistic framework based on internationally recognized standards of decent work, including the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, ILO conventions, and national laws. Auditing is a part of this certification and occurs on an annual basis to ensure that our facility remains compliant.
How do you ensure your products are safe?
Food-grade silicone – no matter where it’s manufactured – must meet certain standards set by the FDA to be legally sold in the United States. Stasher products are made with platinum, food-grade silicone and meet safety standards for food products from the FDA and EU regulators.
Why are you so expensive?
We get it. Stasher bags and bowls are an investment, and we want to ensure they’re as available as possible while delivering high-quality design. That means you may see a higher price tag when compared to disposable plastic bags.
But single-use plastic isn’t cheap. Over time, the cost adds up since it can’t be reused; you must purchase again and again. Think about it — you’re throwing away money every time you toss a plastic bag you bought in the trash. Just one Stasher bag replaces 260 single-use plastic bags per year and fulfills so many household needs beyond storage, saving you money in the long run.
